Data science and environmental health symposium

April 5

Please save the date of *April 5th, 2024* for a new symposium on the interface of data science and environmental health science. The symposium will include topics on Population Genomics, Genomic Driven New Approach Methodologies, and Environmental Health Disparities. The event will include keynote addresses, including an address by Dr. Francesca Dominici from the School of Public Health and Director of the Data Science Initiative at Harvard. The symposium will be held in the Duke Energy Hall in the NCSU Hunt library. The overall objective of the symposium is to provide expert knowledge on state-of-the-art approaches in data science as applied to EHS research and global environmental challenges. This symposium will attract a broad spectrum of participants including students and faculty from academia, as well as representatives from government and industry. Come join us for an interdisciplinary symposium on current and advancing approaches in Data Science and Environmental Health.

In addition, the organizers have planned a full day short course on April 6 2024, providing instruction on methods to analyze data arising from single cell RNA platforms. The short course will have a light pre-requisite of exposure to the R language. For R novices. the organizers have also planned a one-day short course in R, to be held on a date prior to the workshop/course.
