Bio

Dr. Phillip Brown completed his PhD in Microbiology at NC State in 2022 under the direction of Professor Sophia Kathariou. Prior to that, he worked at the US EPA from 2016-2017. Dr. Brown’s expertise is in microbial biology and biotechnology. He is a member of the Department of Biological Sciences and is assigned to the Biotechnology (BIT) Program. In the BIT Program, he teaches a popular module on CRISPR, as well as other courses.
