A hub for Environmental Health Science education, research, and community engagement

Biological Sciences and NC State are unique nationally in the breadth and depth of training, research, and community engagement in which we are investing to improve understanding about how the thousands of chemicals we interact with on a daily basis are affecting our environment and health. Significant funding from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) are helping us train the next generation of environmental health scientists, conduct cutting-edge and multidisciplinary research, engage with impacted communities to understand their concerns, and partner with broad-based stakeholders to find protective solutions. Just a few of these NIEHS-funded efforts include:

• The Southern Liver Health Study (STRIVE)
• The Comparative Toxicogenomics Database (CTD)
• (T32) Training grants (one in Toxicology and one in Bioinformatics)
