Terrence Allen

Bio
Dr. Terrence Allen currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of
Anesthesiology in the Division of Women’s Anesthesia at the Duke University Hospital in
Durham, North Carolina. Dr. Allen attended medical school at the University of the West Indies,
Mona in Jamaica. He completed his medical residency in Anesthesiology at the Pennine School
of Anesthesia, West Yorkshire, England, and the Northwest School of Anesthesia, Manchester,
England along with an Obstetric Anesthesiology Fellowship at the Duke University Hospital. He
also received postgraduate clinical research training in the Duke University School of Medicine’s
Clinical Research Training Program. As a clinician-scientist, he has a track record of conducting
both clinical and translational research in both anesthesiology and perinatology aimed at
improving both maternal and childhood outcomes in high-risk pregnant women. Dr Allen also
currently serves as a consulting member on the North Carolina Maternal Mortality Review
Committee.
