Christa Blais has been serving as an Academic Advisor in the Life Sciences First Year Program since fall 2014. Prior to her role in LSFY, she worked with adult learners at a small private college. Having earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology at NC State and Master of Science in Academic Advising at Kansas State University, she was eager to rejoin the pack supporting students in their academic and professional pursuits. Besides advising and teaching, Christa has dedicated her efforts to develop student mentors through the Class Assistant experience. She strives to tap into undiscovered skills in presenting and coaching to provide an additional layer of support for first-year students. Furthermore, whether it be through advising or the Class Assistant experience, she seeks to build a strong LSFY identity which will persist beyond the first-year.
